Day of Purpose
A Day to Give Back to our Local Community
At Alfred Williams & Company, we're fueled by the belief that a strong community is built on compassion and support. On November 7th, our Charlotte Office came together for their second annual Day of Purpose. From volunteering time to donating resources, we are immensely proud of our team and grateful to everyone who joined us in this collective endeavor. Together, we showcased the strength of unity and the impact we can make when we come together for a common purpose. This year, we're proud to support four incredible non-profit organizations: Roof Above, Habitat for Humanity Charlotte Region ReStore, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Charlotte, and Charlotte Rescue Mission.
Roof Above
Roof Above was born out of the merger of Urban Ministry Center and Men’s Shelter of Charlotte, two prominent organizations long recognized as community leaders in homeless services. Today, Roof Above is a comprehensive homeless service provider serving 1,200 people per day through a spectrum of services ranging from street outreach, day services, emergency shelter, and permanent supportive housing.
Habitat for Humanity Charlotte Region ReStore
The Charlotte Region ReStores are more than a place to find amazing deals on new and gently-used furniture, appliances, home décor and building materials; they help local families build strength and stability through affordable homeownership! As a fundraising arm of Habitat for Humanity of the Charlotte Region, proceeds from the six Charlotte Region ReStore locations and our online store are used to help build and repair homes for hard-working families right here in our community.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Charlotte
RMHC of Greater Charlotte provides comfort and care to families of sick or injured children from across the Carolinas, the country and the world, who are receiving treatment at area medical facilities in Charlotte, North Carolina. During short-term or extended hospital stays, the RMHC House provides a safe haven for families to rest, eat and find support from one another and the community as they cope with their children’s medical needs. Additionally, the RMHC Family Room at Caroline’s Corner provides respite for families just steps away from their child’s bedside and the Happy Wheels program provides care items to families within a hospital setting.
Charlotte Rescue Mission
Charlotte Rescue Mission was founded in 1938 by a group of Christian business people who wanted to serve those facing homelessness. Because many people who came to the Mission for help during those early years were struggling with addiction, the Mission decided to pivot to focus on addiction recovery.
Thank you to Roof Above, Habitat for Humanity Charlotte Region ReStore, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Charlotte, and Charlotte Rescue Mission for your incredible work. Let's carry the spirit of giving forward, making every day an opportunity to uplift those around us!
