A Classic Reimagined

We’re looking forward to seeing you tomorrow evening for Austin’s 2022 Good Design Challenge, hosted by Alfred Williams & Company at met/gal art advisory firm.

About the Event:
Doors will open at 5pm. There is parking available onsite, though the lot can be busy at times.
Location: 1023 Springdale Rd Building 2, Ste. 2A, Austin, TX 78721

Drinks + appetizers will be served.

When you arrive:
You will check in to receive your nametag, a welcome card, and two tickets to vote for your favorite chair(s) to receive the people’s choice award. You will also be asked to join the silent auction via QR code link.

Silent Auction
Each firm’s chair has been re-made into incredible works of art, and you’ll want to participate in the silent auction. On your phone, you’ll just fill out your name, phone, and email to create an account at 32auctions.com. Then, you’ll be able to look at each firm’s chairs, place your bid, and get a text/email if you’ve been out-bid. You really DO NOT want to miss out on these chairs/sculptures! The creativity of this community is an inspiring thing to experience. Bidding will end at 6:45 pm so that the winners can be announced. If you win one of these amazing artworks, your payment will be made as a donation directly on the non-profit’s website, which means it will be tax deductible donation.

People’s Choice Award – How to Vote
There will be a People’s Choice Award given to the firm with the most votes from attendees. Each attendee will receive two free tickets. They’ll look like raffle tickets, but you will put them in jars to cast your vote for your favorite(s). When you want to cast more votes, you can “purchase” them with a Creative Action donation (one ticket for $5 or 5 tickets for $20). Tickets can be purchased via QR code on your welcome card. The jars will be picked up at 6:30 and the votes will be counted. At the end of the evening, all of these proceeds will be donated to Creative Action.

2022 Design Champion
This year’s Design Champion will be named by a panel of judges including Texas State Associate Professor Caroline Hill; artist and interior designer, Kandice Pierce; and an art student representing Creative Action. We are so appreciative of the time and talent they are bringing to the design challenge.

What is Creative Action?
Creative Action brings arts education to Central Texas schools. For 25 years, they’ve employed professional Teaching Artists to use their skills to inspire creativity and ignite social change in young people. They use the arts as a medium to inspire creativity, unlock potential, and transform the lives of students of all ages.
