Good Design Challenge: Columbia, SC
Alfred Williams & Company (AWC) & Herman Miller hosted the first Good Design Challenge in AWC’s Columbia, SC showroom on May 14. Eight architecture and design firms redesigned the Herman Miller Magis Puppy with the theme, “What Inspires You”.
Participating architecture and design firms included, Boudreaux, Garvin Design Group, Jumper Carter Sease Architects, Lambert Architects, LS3P, Pond Interiors, Quackenbush, and Studio 2LR.
The Good Design Challenge Award recipient was selected by a panel of judges. Our judges included Karen Addy (PAALS), Henry Roe (Colliers International), Rob Shaw (Roby Shaw Gallery) and Mary Kent Hearon (The Heart Knot).
By majority vote, Garvin Design Group was awarded the Good Design Challenge Award. Honorable mention went to LS3P for their Puppy Love Magis Puppy. The Highest Bid Award was presented to the Boudreaux Team and the People's Choice Award was awarded to the Garvin Design Group.
The signature Puppy Pow Wow event raised a total of $1,200 for Palmetto Animal Assisted Life Services (PAALS). PAALS is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization committed to enriching and empowering children and adults with physical disabilities and social needs by training service animals and providing animal assisted educational and recreational activities.
