Alfred Williams & Company finalizes acquisition of Workplace Resource
New Company Revenue Over $200 Million, All Employees to Be Retained
Raleigh, NC – On July 1, 2021, Raleigh-headquartered Alfred Williams & Company (AWC) finalized its acquisition of Workplace Resource, headquartered in Austin, in a deal that will cement AWC’s position as one of the premiere workplace strategies, placemaking, office furnishings and pre-constructed, solutions-focused companies in the country. The combined companies will have annual revenue exceeding $200 million and all Workplace Resource employees will be retained by AWC.
“For more than 150 years, Alfred Williams & Company has been driven by smart, creative and talented people,” Blount Williams, chairman and CEO of AWC, said. “This expansion will help us fulfill our mission of defining, designing, and delivering spaces that matter, something that takes on even more significance as employees return to offices across the country. This acquisition opens up new regions for us to increase revenues while offering the same excellent customer service and quality products our customers have come to expect.”
Alfred Williams & Company will continue serving Raleigh, Charlotte, and the Triad region in North Carolina; Charleston, Columbia and Greenville, South Carolina; and the Nashville, Tennessee market while adding Workplace Resource’s Austin, San Antonio and Louisiana markets to its service network. AWC, which was already one of Herman Miller’s largest dealers in North America and a significant partner for DIRTT Environmental Solutions, will continue to offer the same line of products supplied by both AWC and Workplace Resource.
“The opportunities presented by expanding our service area and combining our companies are endless,” Jennifer Hickerson, Regional President – South Central Texas and Louisiana said. “We will utilize this opportunity to learn from our new team members while remaining committed to providing exceptional customer service for all of our clients. I’m incredibly impressed with the Alfred Williams & Company and Workplace Resource employees that will be joining forces, and I am confident AWC has a bright future across our new markets.”
Virginia Visser, who served as principal for Workforce Resource, lauded Alfred Williams & Company and its approach to employees, customers and the community.
“Our succession strategy included a critical list of characteristics we believed would ensure long-term success for our employees,” Visser said. “Alfred Williams & Company checks every box, as a highly respected business who cares deeply about their employees and communities. The cultural alignment between our organizations is simply remarkable. We are extremely excited for the future this transition creates for Workplace Resource team members.”
